Continuing Education Credits
Ecolomed is an approved provider of continuing education by the
Academy
of Professional Funeral Service Practice. You may receive a total of 0.4
CEUs (4 hours) through the APFSP for completion of the designated
OSHA-required training modules. Ecolomed is an approved provider
of continuing education in the following states:
Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware,
Kansas, Maine, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
With the hectic schedule of funeral homes, it
is often difficult to conduct and/or attend hands-on OSHA training
sessions or send employees to off-site training sessions.
Ecolomed completely understands the demands on funeral home worker's
time, because we have been conducting hands-on OSHA training sessions
for our clients since 1991.
What you receive........
By becoming a subscriber to our services,
you will receive a one-year subscription to the training suite. As a
funeral home employer you will be able to grant access to your employees
or users. Only one subscription per legal business entity is
allowed. For example, if you have ownership interests in multiple
funeral homes and all are distinctly incorporated, then you will have to
purchase separate subscriptions for each business
accordingly.
Once a subscriber, each of your employees will be given access to
our site by the issuance of a unique username and password.
At the end of one year (366th day), your access to the site will
expire and you will have to renew your subscription. At a minimum,
the
training modules will be updated each January to reflect any necessary regulatory changes
and/or additional or new information. If regulatory changes occur
during the year, the affected training modules will be immediately
updated at that time and you will be notified of any additional training
requirements necessary. As you know, there are
several OSHA standards that require annual training such as
formaldehyde, bloodborne pathogens, and respiratory protection.
The subscription fee to have 24/7 access to the OSHA training modules
starts at $475/year. This is a significant savings compared to the
cost of hands-on training sessions, not to mention the fact that your
employees receive training any time they want and when it is convenient
for them.
For
security purposes and to minimize unauthorized use, the funeral home and
it's employees are encouraged not to disclose their username and
passwords to unauthorized persons. If an employee leaves the
funeral home, you (employer) are encouraged to notify us to deactivate
the former employee's access.
Only those employees currently employed with the funeral home will
receive applicable continuing education credits.
What your employees receive.......
Your employees receive access to five OSHA-required training modules:
- Hazard Communication
- Formaldehyde
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Respiratory Protection
- Tuberculosis
The content of the training module material comes from over 20 years
of experience providing OSHA compliance consulting services in the
funeral home industry and is created by our own certified industrial
hygienist (CIH). Ecolomed's experience and knowledge in the field
are unmatched in the industry.
To begin a training module, your employees simply logon with the
appropriate username and password and choose a training module they wish
to complete. Once logged in, the system recognizes the
employee. After completing the training module,
employees will be
required to take an examination. Upon successful completion of the
examination (70%), a certificate of
successful completion is auto-generated that the student must print out for recordkeeping purposes. It is
recommended, that the funeral home have the employees who successfully
complete a training module sign an appropriate internal training
document that is topic-specific and attach the certificate of completion
generated on-line.
That's it! It is easy, convenient and time efficient on
everyone's part. So don't hesitate, sign up today and start
enjoying the benefits of OSHA web based training!
